Veterinary surgery, what is it?
Veterinary surgery is an activity of fundamental importance, practiced both in diagnosis and treatment, which is divided into two main branches: that of hard tissues and that of soft tissues.
Hard tissue surgery operates in the field of the musculoskeletal system and, consequently, treats osteo-articular and spinal column problems.rale. It includes orthopedics, traumatology and neurosurgery.
Soft tissue surgery on the other hand, includes: general surgery, specialist surgery, oncological surgery and emergency surgery.
The journey with the patient
A course of veterinary surgery does not consist of surgery alone, but also includes pre- and post-operative checks. In particular, before the operation, the anesthesiologists ensure, through tests, that the patient can be subjected to anesthesia and therefore to surgery. Subsequently, in the post-operative phase, the patient is followed and monitored to ensure the success of the intervention and the complete rehabilitation of the patient. To minimize stress and suffering, we also make available the administration, during and especially after surgery, of multimodal pain-relieving therapies.
